The config file /etc/fw_env.config is generated dynamically basing on
the partition table and, in the case of NAND-based SOMs, on the NAND
geometry. This is done on a postinst script that modifies the file on the
first boot of the target. Since this is not allowed on read-only-rootfs,
this commit adds a default fw_env.config file to use instead when

When DualBoot mechanism is enabled and an update is pending,
the boot script needs to change certain variables and save the
environment.
The regular boot script already changes a number of variables,
such as 'extra_bootargs' and 'overlays' by appending strings to
the already existing values. Saving the envionment may make these
grow endlessly with each iteration of the boot script.
For this reason, move the DualBoot check as the first thing in
the script, save the environment if needed, and then continue
with the normal flow, that changes variables before booting
but doesn't save them.
On certain scripts, this allows us to get rid of some instructions
for resetting the overlays variable.

The script required the passing of option '-b' for setting up the
target to use a single MTD partition and multiple UBI volumes.
If a target however already has the variable 'ubisysvols' set to

partition layout would change to default (several MTD partitions).

basing on the current value of 'ubisysvols' variable.

The boot script appends values to certain variables such as
$extra_bootargs and $overlays.
If the final instruction of the boot script (dboot command)
fails, these variables contain the new values, plus the original
one. Since the user recovers the prompt, he may do a 'saveenv'
to save the environment, and the modified variables will be
saved, only to be enlarged again on the next boot.
This can lead to repeated strings on such variables.
Save the original value and restore it in case of failure on
the dboot command.

In the ccimx6sbc, since each SOC has a separate set of device trees, we can use
the soc_family environment variable when generating the name of the final
device tree in the bootscript. However, for the ccimx6qpsbc, there is only one
set of device trees with the "imx6qp" prefix, even though there are SOC
variants such as the imx6dp. Running the bootscript on a ccimx6qpsbc with an
imx6dp SOC assembled will result in a failure, since it will look for a

Starting with Linux v4.15, regulatory domains are no longer handled via CRDA,
but via the kernel and a flexible database instead. Said database is included
in the wireless-regdb-static package, which conflicts with the old
wireless-regdb package.
To accomodate for this new package, add CRDA as a dependency for ccimx6
platforms only, and incorporate wireless-regdb-static for the rest of the
platforms. Additionally, the ccimx6 kernel should inherit the
kernel_wireless_regdb .bbclass so the plaintext database is copied to the
kernel sources, but since we use the same recipe for all kernel versions and
ccimx6 platforms are not yet supported in zeus, omit this change for now.
Remove the package-base .bbappend, since only ccimx6ulstarter images include
that packagegroup and they require wireless-regdb-static, anyway.
By adding the regulatory database, we avoid delays when going to suspend,
caused by the kernel waiting for the database to appear.

With the device tree overlays mechanism in place, the bootscript
doesn't need to set the fdt_file variable. Instead, it will use
the value it has (which can be changed by the user) and it will
simply update the 'overlays' variable with the device tree
overlays that apply basing on the hardware capabilities found
on the HWID, SOM version, and carrier board version.
This allows a user to override the default fdt_file to point
to his custom device tree, but still make use of the boot script
for hardware-detected overlays.
Without the need to set the base filename, the boot script is the
same for any carrier board of the ccimx8x SOM, so this commit
moves it to a common folder.

Each platform now has only one base device tree, meant for the i.MX8DX variants
of the ccimx8x boards. Apply the QXP overlay in the bootscript if the SOC is
identified as an i.MX8QXP.
Since we want to give this overlay a higher priority than the SOM overlays
(wifi and bluetooth), prepend it to the overlay list after appending the SOM
overlays.

Do not evaluate TRUSTFENCE_SIGN_MODE on conditions where the sign mode
is not relevant:
1) U-Boot binary file should be signed directly after building it when simple
U-Boot images are used, but it should not be signed when imx-boot bundled
images are used.
For those, the signing process is performed later over the whole imx-boot
bundled binary file on a different recipe.
We use BOOTLOADER_IMAGE_RECIPE variable to evaluate this distinction.
BOOTLOADER_IMAGE_RECIPE is set to "u-boot" by default and is set to "imx-boot"
on ccimx8x and ccimx8mn machine configuration files.
2) For signing imx-boot images we should treat differently those images that
include the RAM configuration in their name and those that don't, as we do
for the rest of the tasks in the same recipe. We can ignore the sign mode
method in this case.

Generalize script to select the correct board data file to load into the
wireless chip depending on the Regulatory Domain configuration whether it
is a variation of 'bdwlan30.bin' or 'fakeboar.bin'.
If 'bdwlan30_US.bin' or 'bdwlan30_World.bin' files are found in the firmware
directory, the script will create two symlinks, 'bdwlan30.bin and 'utfbd30.bin',
pointing to either one of those files.
If no 'bdwlan30_*.bin' files are found, but 'fakeboar_US.bin' or
'fakeboar_World.bin' is, it will create a single symlink, 'fakeboar.bin',
pointing to either one of those files. In the case a QCA6574 community driver
is loaded, 'board.bin' symlink will be updated.
If no 'fakeboard_*.bin' files are found either, the script will exit.

Default poky's version of the 'mount.sh' script doesn't account
for the possibility of udev calling twice the script for the 'add'
action. This has been observed on USB sticks connected to a USB hub
and, although the script eventually fails, for already mounted
partitions, in that case the script tries to remove the created
mountpoint, when it shouldn't.
This patch checks for already mounted partitions earlier (before
creating the mount point) and returns with no actions.

The current scripts used the standard mount binary at /bin/mount
for mounting the partitions. Systemd however seems to have a monitor
that eventually umounts such partitions if not mounted by systemd's
specific command 'systemd-mount`.
For platforms using systemd, we need to use this binary together with
parameter --no-block so that partitions are mounted correctly during
the boot process.
This commit merges the two scripts for Digi-handled partitions into
just one:
mount_bootparts.sh
\
+--> mount_digiparts.sh
/
mount_partition.sh
The merged script:
- checks if running with systemd, to use its binary.
- checks if running with busybox, to not use the unsupported '-o'
attribute.
- checks if mounting the 'linux' partition, to mount it read-only.
- checks for already-attached UBI devices, to avoid re-attaching.
This commit also combines the Digi-handled partitions (linux, update)
into the same udev rule, to simplify it, and breaks the rules lines
for readability.

On some scenarios, like when booting from NFS, the root filesystem is not
writteable. When this happens the qualcomm.sh is not able to write the MAC
file which so the wireless driver fails to load.
The arguments that U-Boot uses when booting from NFS using dboot result in
the root filesystem being mounted as read-only, but at some point it is
remounted as read/write. This happens after trying to load the wireless
driver, though.
Currently this is the only scenario in which we can reproduce the problem,
and there are several other processes in DEY that require a writeable root
filesystem (wireless SSID editing, Dropbear SSH key-gen and u-boot-fw-utils)
so remount the rootfs as writteable as a workaround.
While on it improve the script a bit to notify on error trying to create
this file, just in case this happens in other scenarios.

The artifacts that must go inside the installer ZIP image are not anymore
the ones in UBOOT_CONFIG. For CC8X, the artifacts are combinations of
UBOOT_CONFIG and RAM_CONFIGS.
This commit adds a function 'get_bootable_artifacts()' to boot-artifacts class
to generate a new variable BOOTABLE_ARTIFACTS with the list of bootable
artifacts DEY produces.

The existing loops were iterating through all RAM_CONFIGS, but
they must only iterate over those that match the RAM size on the

This commit adds a Python class 'boot-artifacts' to get the list of matching

The recipe was creating a variable with the value of another one from

Signed-off-by: Hector Palacios <hector.palacios@digi.com>
A variable called IMAGE_BOOTLOADER was being used without distinction for
referring to two different things:
- the recipe that builds the bootable artifacts
- the prefix of those artifacts
The value of this is "u-boot" for most platforms, but "imx-boot" for the
CC8X based platforms.
The name of the variable is misleading, so this commit splits it into two:
- BOOTLOADER_IMAGE_RECIPE, to refer to the recipe
- UBOOT_PREFIX, to refer to the prefix of the bootable artifact
With the separation, the variable UBOOT_SYMLINK becomes a generic formed
one, so it is moved to digi-defaults.inc.
While on it, fix the image_types_digi.bbclass which was not making use of
the original variable to establish all the dependencies.

This package is the combination of U-Boot and the other i.MX firmware binaries.
In our case, these binaries are: the SCFW, the ATF and the DCD.
The recipe has been ported from the meta-fsl-bsp-release repo, with a couple of
important changes:
* Support for our platform (based on the mx8qxpa0, which uses A0-specific
parameters for mkimage and appends the DCD explicitly)
* Support for multiple UBOOT_CONFIG values (NXP only uses one UBOOT_CONFIG
string per platform; so the compile, install and deploy functions had to
be tweaked to build both 1GB and 2GB variants for our platform).
Our DCD patch used in imx-mkimage is also used, since both packages share the
same repo and imx-boot is the one responsible for generating the final,
bootable image.

Udev comes with a bunch of generic rules for the hardware. One of them:
/lib/udev/rules.d/80-drivers.rules
is able to load the qualcomm wireless module.
At the same time our new rule is needed, so it prepares the firmware
before the module is loaded.
Both rules running collide with following error message:
udevd[181]: '/etc/udev/scripts/qualcomm.sh' [184] terminated by signal 1 (Hangup)
So to fix this, we rename the specific rule so it's parsed later, and
then we use the hard assignation '=' instead of '+=' to override the
values that come from the previous parsed rule.
Also clean-up a bit the 'qualcomm.sh' script and the modprobe file,
given that now we know the standard drivers rule won't run for this
interface.

A mechanism was introduced in U-Boot to dynamically locate the environment
copies within a NAND partition, skipping bad blocks and making full use of
the partition blocks.
To trigger this mechanism in Linux tools (fw_printenv/fw_setenv) the
configuration file /etc/fw_env.config must have both copies entries
pointing to the same offset.
This commit substitutes the hardcoded configuration file for CC6UL with a
stub and generates one on an RPM post-script basing on:
- Supplied DEY variables (with default values per platform):
- UBOOT_ENV_OFFSET: starting offset of the environment within the
partition.
- UBOOT_ENV_SIZE: size of each copy of the environment.
- UBOOT_ENV_RANGE: size in the partition that the environment copies may
occupy, starting from UBOOT_ENV_OFFSET. If undefined, the whole
partition is used.
- Calculated values:
- NAND Erase block size
- Number of blocks available for the environment copies

- The IVT table address inside the kernel image must be aligned at 0x1000
bytes. The calculation of this offset was not working when the kernel image
size was multiple of 0x1000 bytes. In this case the IVT table was moved an
extra offset of 0x1000 bytes, causing U-Boot to fail to validate the image
as the IVT table was not in the expected location.
This fix uses the same offset calculation algorithm as U-Boot, ensuring both,
the sign script and U-Boot will look for the IVT at the same address.

Loading firmware by userspace helpers has been deprecated from device
managers (like udev, eudev, etc). Firmware loading is supposed to be
performed by the kernel.
This fixes the loading of an external kernel module (qualcomm wlan.ko)
that was failing to load because of a missing firmware file.
In that case the kernel was requesting the firmware load from userspace:
ar6k_wlan mmc0:0001:1: Direct firmware load for qsetup30.bin failed with error -2
ar6k_wlan mmc0:0001:1: Falling back to user helper
The device manager we are using in DEY-2.2 (eudev) does not support
firmware loading and is not giving an error return value to the kernel
either, so at one point the kernel throws an oops:

NAND partitions may have pre-existing UBI volume information
and that will tell U-Boot to use 'ubiwrite' to keep UBI wear
leveling information instead of erasing the NAND partition
beforehand. Given that the UBI support in U-Boot is not
particularly complete and stable, and specially if the NAND
partition table has been changed, this could result into
problems during the UBI volume initialization or during the
update process. To prevent such problems it is better that
the NAND partitions are erased.
This loses the UBI wear leveling information but provides
a more reliable deployment install script.

These have been provided by the embedded hardware team and they are to
be used for certification testing. The calibration corresponds to the
internal antenna on the module. If using the current external antenna on the
CC6UL SBC they work fine, although they could be tweaked to improve.
The BDF files provided were generated from the original ones, by running a
test tree for output power calibration for QCA6564A-3 chip. This test
tree is called
‘FCCSP_Rome3.x_WLAN_CLPC_cal_and_WLAN_BT_Verify_Y8611-H341.xtt’ and it
belongs to the Qualcomm Design Package ‘DP25-WL420-100’.

As discovered during certifications preparation work, calibration changes
applied only on the bdwlan30.bin file do not take effect.
Per QCA guidelines, the bdwlan30.bin and utfbd30.bin files should be the

This commit removes the current utfbd30.bin file, with an md5sum that
matches the original bdwlan30.bin file in QCA's chipcode
qca6564-le-1-0-3_qca_device repository, and creates a symbolic link to the
actual bdwlan30.bin board file used to certify Digi's module internal

The HAB on the i.MX6/i.MX6UL expects an entrypoint which is used to pass
execution to U-Boot in the ROM code. In later executions of HAB, U-Boot calls
the HAB but ignores this value.
A fixed value of 0x1000 was being used for the entrypoint, which is too big for
really small artifacts, like bootscripts. This commit reduces the value to
0x100. This allows to sign and encrypt artifacts as small as 260 bytes.

The setting of 'bootcmd' in the script was done using single quotes, which
doesn't expand variables. As a consequence the following variables must
be defined again (during the execution of the second part of the script):
- mmcdev
- INSTALL_LINUX_FILENAME
- INSTALL_ROOTFS_FILENAME
This patch changes the single quotes with double quotes, so that these
variables are expanded during the setting of 'bootcmd' with the values
assigned at the begining of the installation script (notice these are
not dynamically generated so there is no risk to expand them).
At the same time we need to escape with a backslash:

- variables that we don't want to expand (like the return value $?)

An example of functionality failing without that enabled is the audio

While on it configure the atheros driver as module. Otherwise the kernel
tries to load the firmware from user-space before the rootfs being
mounted, giving error messages on boot:

We inherited from DEL the requirement to build more than one flash image
for the same rootfs contents depending on the EBS of the flash chip.
Yocto does not have support to generate more than one flash image so we
had to create functions in the image_types_digi bbclass to provide this
feature.
This commit removes that functionality and uses the standard yocto
support to generate ubifs and jffs2 flash images. The way to customize
the flash parameters is via EXTRA_IMAGECMD_jffs2 and MKUBIFS_ARGS
variables. In our case those variables are already set depending on the
